Solvent-free multicomponent reactions and asymmetric transformations in solution and under mechanochemical conditions

This work focuses on new methods in the fields of solvent-free synthesis and asymmetric metal catalysis. In the first part of the thesis the development of a straightforward synthetic protocol towards unprecedented chiral sulfonimidoylalkyl naphthols was described. The products were obtained by a multicomponent reaction under solvent-free conditions and their applicability was examined. In addition, the kinetic resolution of racemic malonic acid indole derivatives in the reaction with indoles, promoted by a chiral copper-sulfoximine complex, was explored. Furthermore, a mechanochemical procedure for the copper-catalyzed asymmetric Friedel-Crafts alkylation of indoles was developed.
