In the fourth semester of the teacher training program Master Chemistry, the module Modern Methods (MM) is attended. In addition, the master thesis is written
In the module Modern Methods, the seminar Modern Methods in Inorganic Chemistry and the lecture Modern Methods in Organic Chemistry are attended. In these two classes, modern methods of current research are presented and taught to students, using more complex examples. Students must give a talk on a part of current research activities in inorganic chemistry in the seminar Modern Methods in Inorganic Chemistry. An exam will be written for the lecture Modern Methods in Organic Chemistry. If both the paper and the exam are passed, the module is successfully completed.
The master thesis can be written in the subject chemistry or in another subject. If the master thesis is written in the subject Chemistry, at least 29 credit points must be achieved to start with the master thesis. The master thesis can be written in any of the chemical subject areas, as well as in subject didactics, whereby the treatment of a chemical problem must be carried out according to scientific methods.
